BUDS, your partner in shaping up and selling your company, was founded in 2013 with Darko Butina and Saša Butina as founders of the company. Both of them wanted to share their expertise and experiences gained during successful career in executive, board level and expert positions with companies like yours.

Darko Butina

Darko has extensive M&A experience from having led companies through the transaction process from all sides. He successfully led Mimovrste sales process (Slovenia’s largest e-commerce player), structured and led buy process for Nexperts (innovative Austrian start-up focused on mobile payments), successfully raised funds for Mimovrste and Darko’s own start-up Adeptio and personally invested in a number of start-ups literally around the world. In the last years, Darko also advised various other companies on M&A process.

Besides M&A expertise Darko also has extensive strategic managerial expertise. Darko’s executive and board engagements include serving in the board of Cognism (fast growing UK startup), being member of the management board of Netcetera (leading Swiss software development headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland) as Chief Investment Officer, being engaged as procura holder at Elektro energija (largest supplier of electrical energy within Slovenia’s retail market as well as a major wholesaler), serving as CEO of Mimovrste, being member of the management board of Najdi.si (Slovenia’s largest search engine) etc.

As part of his engagements and as part of his role as partner in BUDS, Darko has also helped to develop and successfully implement strategy in a number of companies of different sizes, maturity, geographies and industries. Furthermore, Darko has successfully acted also as crisis manager in few companies, which he successfully led through turnarounds.

Saša Butina

Saša dedicated her career to the field of controlling, reporting and financial planning, in which she has been active since 2000. During this time she significantly helped to develop controlling in DZS group (one of the largest publishing and retail groups in Slovenia) and in Delo Prodaja (Slovenia’s largest periodicals distributor and one of larger sellers of Slovenia’s periodicals). She has been active in DZS until 2011 and in Delo Prodaja until her engagement with BUDS in 2013. Saša has successfully provided her services not only nationally in Slovenia, but also internationally.

Her rich experiences in the field of controlling include everything from setting up controlling system in a company, setting up processes of acquiring and regularly updating appropriate data inside and outside of a company, to setting up and regularly ensuring reporting etc. Her achievements have proved repeatedly that she can ensure management receives appropriate and timely information, which enable right and timely decisions.
